The first REACH registrations will take place by 30 November 2010 for registrants with substances in the > 1000 tonnes tonnage band. REACH registration is the responsibility of each legal entity (i.e. the same as for Pre-Registration).
As you are aware, MoCon is preparing the technical data (mandatory hazard dataset and chemical safety report for each substance in the MoCon substance portfolio) that each intending registrant will refer to when submitting its own registration.
After 22 March 2010, all REACH-registrations must be submitted using the recently-released IUCLID5 software package, Version 5.2. It is available NOW, free-of-charge from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on http://iuclid.echa.europa.eu/ . See the recent ECHA News Alert about the release of IUCLID version 5.2.
We recommend that all intending registrants install IUCLID5.2 well in advance of their first intended REACH-registration date, in preparation for when you will need to use it to prepare your joint-submission registration file. For the avoidance of doubt, please be clear that the Molybdenum Consortium is preparing the Lead Registrant REACH-registration submission, but all companies that jointly-submit (i.e. refer to the Lead Registrant submission when they register) must prepare their own joint-submission REACH registration file using IUCLID5.2.
Installing and learning how to use this software, so that you can understand and then achieve what you need to do to prepare your successful joint-submission registration file is a challenging task. You are strongly encouraged not to leave this activity until the last minute!
